Socar Georgia Petroleum
Supporting society under the quarantine was targeted at supporting not only one but several segments during the pandemic. The project covered vulnerable groups and provided support to those fighting the pandemic on the front line.
The project commenced in March 2020 and the company continued providing various types of aids till the end of September. The initiative was being implemented by the company employees and its management.
The project comprised of 3 basic directions. Through support of Georgian Business Association, 200,000 GEL financial aid was transferred to StopCov fund, which at that moment was in the process of determining the areas in crucial need of support; Through direct involvement of Socar authorities and management, boxes filled with food products and other necessary items were delivered to 1,000 families throughout the entire country. Besides, Waymart food-stores at Socar fuel stations were providing free coffee to police officers and ambulance crew members for 6 months thus expressing their gratitude, solidarity and support to the professionals fighting for saving human lives.
