TBC Bank has been playing an important role in the financial, economic, and social development of Georgia for 30 years. As part of its environmental responsibility, the bank strives to reduce its ecological footprint and increase its positive impact on the environment through resource conservation, strategic approaches and awareness raising. TBC's environmental policy and individual action plans have been agreed with the bank's 19 subsidiaries.
In order to reduce its ecological footprint, TBC uses an energy-efficient approach and takes into account green recommendations in the process of construction and renovation of offices and branches. Energy-efficient lighting, heating and cooling systems are used in the bank's offices. The company’s fleet has electric and hybrid vehicles.
Earth Day was celebrated at TBC with a new initiative. Starting on April 22, lighting will be dimmed in the 134 bank branches during non-working hours, saving 120,000 kWh of electricity and reducing C02 emissions by 23,400 kg annually.
To screen long-term contractors and suppliers, TBC has developed an environmental and social (E&S) risk management questionnaire and provides contractors with an action plan in case of non-compliance. In 2022, 70 action plans were delivered.
In 2022, a special award for green businesses and initiatives was established within the TBC Business Awards program.
As part of its responsibility to its employees, TBC takes care of the protection of the life, health and safety of employees, promotes diversity and a family-oriented organizational culture and offers personal and professional development opportunities for its employees.
The bank offers private medical insurance is provided, gives allowances for large families, offers fully paid maternity leave and gives one-time financial assistance related to marriage and the birth of a child. TBC encourages a flexible and balanced work schedule with many employees having the ability to work in a hybrid mode.
Internal training programs and other types of support are provided for the professional development of employees. A scholarship fund for co-financing the studies of top employees at the world's leading universities is also offered. The bank provides a mentoring program for front office employees and various TBC Academy courses are available to all employees. The position of branch trainer has been introduced at several branches whose functions include monitoring the customer service process, identifying shortcomings in the work of the staff and adjusting individual training programs accordingly. From 2022, a complex leadership program was introduced within the framework of the bank’s School of Leadership with 55% of the participants being women.

The bank offers small and medium business clients a unique support program whose various resources and components are available at https://www.tbcbusiness.ge/. Since 2017, the “Startupper” project has been running which offers both financial and non-financial assistance to start-ups. More than 55,000 start-ups have participated in the activities since 2017. From 2016 to date, TBC has provided more than GEL 80 million to finance agricultural start-ups.
TBC pays special attention to small entrepreneurs and tries to involve them in the supply chain. In 2022, the bank held forums to support local small and medium businesses in the country’s regions.
In order to reduce environmental risks, TBC prefers the purchase and use of green and energy-efficient products, thus requiring suppliers to comply with environmental standards.
A total of 90% of TBC branches are fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. Since 2022, several branches have been adapted to employ people with disabilities and provide them with comfortable working conditions.
TBC realizes the positive role it can play in community support and development. The bank’s priorities are supporting youth education and development, empowering women, protecting cultural heritage, promoting diversity and equality, empowering different groups of society and awareness raising.
- In 2021, the National Museum of Georgia opened the renovated archaeological museum in Van with the support of TBC;
- The goal of the TBC tech podcast, which started in 2021, is to raise awareness of new technology issues and promote interesting Georgian tech start-ups;
- Starting from 2019, the school student scholarship program finances 200 children per year with GEL 100 per month. At the same time, TBC invites scholarship holders to participate in various entertainment and educational activities which is organizes;
- TBC is the sponsor of the first large-scale exhibition and sale of products and services of Georgian women entrepreneurs;
- The company is a partner of the Grace Hopper Awards which strives to inspire and attract more Georgian women to the information and communication technology industry.
From the very first days of Russia’s war against Ukraine, TBC has been actively involved in helping Ukrainians. A charity account was opened where anyone can make a donation. To simplify the donation process, a special template, "Support Ukraine," was created in the TBC application. All fees for charitable and humanitarian transfers are fully covered by the bank. With joint efforts, more than GEL 1.7 million has been collected to help Ukraine. The bank provided a donation of GEL 200,000 on behalf of the entire TBC team. TBC stood by Ukrainian colleagues and their families and has helped international organizations, the government and the private sector to implement a number of important projects.
