Hundreds of families of PepsiCo's Ukrainian employees were forced to leave the country due to ongoing hostilities. Most of them take refuge in temporary housing and suffer from acute shortage of livelihood resources.
PepsiCo decided to contribute to the provision of safe housing, food and daily necessities to citizens of Ukraine and planned activities in two main directions.
- Those Ukrainian families who had to stay in Georgia due to the war raging in their homeland with the help of the Business Association of Distributors of Georgia, PepsiCo used its own products to offer help.
- PepsiCo also included company employees in supporting activities of displaced Ukrainian colleagues and their families and gave them the opportunity to make their own contribution to help people in need. In particular, a sale of PepsiCo branded souvenirs at a symbolic price was organized in which all employees participated. A PepsiCo marathon was also held in which everyone who wanted to participate could pay a symbolic fee and thereby support their Ukrainian colleagues. The management of PepsiCo was actively involved in all of these actions in order to encourage the participation of company subordinates and set an example for them. The money collected as a result of the actions, together with the sale of various products, was given to 200 families.
Globally, PepsiCo has donated USD 4 million to various international charities in order to help the Ukrainian people.
