HEIDELBERGCEMENT GEORGIA

Supporters of the project are Tbilisi City Hall, Patrol Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sport for All Federation and the German Embassy in Georgia. The Tbilisi Marathon comprises three different distance runs, including a kid run. During the registration for the distance, participants pay a fee for charitable purposes. Registration for children is free-of-charge. Approximately GEL 250,000 is spent annually for the organizational purposes of the Tbilisi Marathon.

HeidelbergCement annually selects a new beneficiary to receive the amount of money collected as a result of the marathon. This amount includes the contribution from participants and an equal amount from the company to double the initial collection. In 2018, 2,500 adults and 500 children participated in the marathon. This year, 433 representatives of 54 countries visited Tbilisi in order to take part in the marathon. The beneficiary for this year, First Step, received GEL 78,280 which is the total amount of money received from participant registration and an equal contribution from HeidelbergCement.
