Within the scope of Environmental Responsibility, the Bank of Georgia is taking efforts to minimizethe negative impact on the environment, save natural resources and reduce the amount of waste.

The Ecomegobari (eco-friend) campaign urges employees of the Bank to save energy, water and other resources. For waste management purposes, green sacks were placed in their offices to collect paper waste; as a result, over eight tons of paper waste was collected. Energy-efficient light bulbs were installed in the head office. In order to save paper, the Bank has been using electronic bills for three years.

The Bank of Georgia makes annual contributions to the maintenance activities of ten preserved areas.

The Bank funded the establishment of an adapted eco-bank Ocho-camp in the Lagodekhi preserved area and a waste recycling social enterprise – Green Gift.

The Bank continues in its efforts to take care of its employees’ welfare and development.

For its employees, the Bank has a financial support plan in place and offers vacation days in cases of marriage, child birth, sickness or the death of a family member as well as health insurance. The head office has a gym and an area designated for relaxation is provided.

A distance training platform – learning.bog.ge – has been established for the professional development of employees.

Workplace – a Facebook integrated virtual space has been launchedto simplify communication between the Bank’s employees and management. Through occasional live communication, the CEO answers employee questions and provides them with information on interesting novelties.

The service – My Lawyer Friend, if required, ensures the legal defense of employees and their family members. The Bank’s Health Club gives yoga and art-therapy lessons and plans meetings with psychologists and diet experts.

The Bank’s employees initiated the establishment of an employee support fund – Our Fund, which has already supported up to 20 beneficiaries.

Responsibility at the market space: As of March 31, 2019, the Bank has provided services to 2.5 million customers through 271 service centers, 886 ATMs, 3,152 self-service terminals, distance bank services and its 24-hour call service.

Retail bank products include current and savings accounts, deposits, money transfers, mortgage and customer services; micro, small and average business loans, deferred payment, auto-credit, credit cards, etc. Express Bankoffers fast services and only products based on key bank transactions. The prime bank service concept – SOLO is completely oriented to the client expectations and currently provides services to over 47,000 customers.

Corporate banking offers individual loan, trade funding and leasing services to client companies; corporate investment banking service includes the management of obtained property and brokerage services.

To support the population and specific communities the Bank of Georgia finances programs on education, overcoming poverty and the provision of equal possibilities to disabled people.

Through various educational projects, the Bank makes high quality education available to gifted students residing in Georgia. From 2014 to date through scholarship programs, study programs in leading Georgian, UK and USA universities were funded for over 500 students.

The platform launched by the bank – https://donate.ge– provides a chance to transfer items free of charge or transfer a desirable amount of money to seven different charity funds once or regularly on a monthly basis. Through this platform, up to 800 donors communicated with around 1,900 beneficiaries; over 70,000 items were collected.

Equal opportunities and social inclusion projects have been funded since 2014; as a result, up to 600 disabled persons were provided with wheelchairs specifically adjusted for their individual needs and 15 social enterprises have been established having employed over 20 disabled individuals.
