Polyvim
Polyvim, as a secondary plastic processing enterprise, focuses on the development of the waste management system in Georgia and the separate collection of recyclable waste which contributes to the development of the recycling sector and a circular economy in the country.
The main goal of the project is to inculcate the behavior of separation in the population in order to maximize the collection and recycling of the approximately 40 tons of plastic bottles produced daily.
The project has been running in two directions since June 2021. The main goal of the Green Revolution campaign is to raise awareness about the separation of plastic waste in highly responsible companies and organizations. A number of schools and universities are involved in the campaign. Polyvim, in cooperation with a partner company, produced 1,000 indoor space separation bins which were given to organizations free of charge. The collected waste was transported once a month by a Polyvim vehicle. At the current stage, due to the increasing number of companies involved in the campaign and the amount of separated waste, Polyvim transports waste to the enterprise four times a month.
The second direction is the One Step Forward 1=1 campaign through which waste is given a value. Within the framework of the project, Polyvim introduced a GEL 1 per 1 kg plastic bottle which is collected at a predetermined stand in Mtskheta. The company gave the Mtskheta municipality a gift of 30 indoor space separation bins for placement in public spaces. Polyvim has already started a pilot project in Rustavi where citizens can bring waste to the Polyvim factory.
