Mina
JSC "Mina" Ksani glass container plant is a company belonging to the international industrial conglomerate "Şişecam" since 1998. Its main activity is the production of various types of glass containers which are currently the most important alternatives to plastic ones and are easily recyclable.
The project was inspired and initiated based on the Şişecam company's sustainable development policy and strategy.
A separate waste collection and disposal system has been implemented within the company. In addition, it sells non-hazardous waste such as plastic waste, cardboard, ferrous metal and wood (including pallets) to various customers for further recycling.
The company saved approximately GEL 1,091,692 in 2022 and saved at least 6,050 trees from being cut down.
By implementing a system of reusable plastic pads, which started from August 2022, the company consumed 196,671 less cardboard pads, made a saving of GEL 708,016 GEL and prevented 25 additional trees from being cut down.
The amount of non-hazardous waste (waste of cardboard and wooden packaging materials) generated in the enterprise decreased by approximately 30%, and the amount of hazardous waste (lubricating brushes) - by 31% in 2022
