With the purpose of perfecting and reinforcing corporate politics as well as ensuring a transparent and fair competition in the process of supplier selection, VEON Georgia launched a one year program in 2017 within whose framework the company's code of conduct was reviewed and renewed. More specically, this concerned elaborating and implementing policy regarding the issues of corruption, money laundering and a policy on the ght against nancing terrorism, the code of business partner relations, conicts of interest, problem notication and revenge, and a retribution policy, among many others.
The company's management took on a personal responsibility to ensure the implementation and control of the policy. The HR department elaborated guidelines and planned numerous activities which assisted employees in understanding the code of conduct and putting it into practice in their everyday work. Individual and group trainings, online courses and competitions were conducted and internal prizes were established.
With the help of the renewed policy, the ethical attitude toward the business process improved not only inside the company but outside of it as well with existing and potential suppliers and clients. The company is condent that as a result of the implemented program its resources are being used in a correct way, all suppliers are provided with equal opportunities, discrimination and nepotism are excluded and employees enjoy a transparent and fair working environment.
