In March 2023, official cooperation between TBC and USAID was signed. There is an improvement in the labor market of personnel, which, in turn, is reflected in the creation of quality education opportunities and an increase in the availability of professional personnel.

The project "TBC X USAID for Technological Education" serves to achieve this goal and creates an innovative experience in the field of Georgian technological non-formal education through the mobilization of international practices, complex training methodologies and relevant resources.

The general framework of the project includes the development of educational programs with the involvement of leading local and international experts in the field, the training/retraining of up to 800 individuals aged 18 and over across Georgia in 8 technological directions, and ensuring the employment of successful alumni in high-tech companies, both in TBC and its subsidiaries, as well as in other partners of the project technological companies.

One of the primary focuses of the project is to empower women in the technology sector by enhancing their access to quality education and promoting employment opportunities.

The programs will be administered by the TBC IT Academy, leveraging the expertise of leading professionals in the field. Conducting the courses online ensures their accessibility across Georgia, thereby fostering the development of the technology sector in various regions and expanding employment opportunities.

During the project planning process, several key objectives were identified:

  • Development of 9 comprehensive training courses;
  • Training of up to 800 participants;
  • Facilitating employment opportunities for up to 400 participants;
  • Establishment of an IOS laboratory;
  • Ensuring that 30% of students are women and beneficiaries from the regions.

As part of the project, specialized training laboratories were established, including a DevOps on-premise lab that mirrors the working environment of TBC DevOps engineers. Additionally, a cybersecurity test environment was set up on the Cloud, enabling students to practice the full spectrum of activities undertaken by SOC experts during both defense and attack scenarios.

IOS practical training laboratory - Infinity Lab was created, which is part of the innovative program of the project and contributes to the development of the principle of teaching with connectivism.

The project "TBC X USAID for Technological Education" was awarded in the nomination "Best Provider of IT Education" in the competition held within the framework of the regional conference for the development of cyber security and information technologies "GITI 2023".
