PSP

PSP has been dedicated to care about the health and beauty of Georgian citizens for 30 years. With approximately 5,000 employees, the company prioritizes the continuous development of their professional knowledge and skills, which is upheld by the PSP Academy, established 20 years ago.

The Covid-19 pandemic has emerged as the most significant challenge for the company in recent years. Pharmacy managers found themselves tasked with not only effectively navigating their professional responsibilities amidst constantly evolving Covid regulations but also with overcoming crises and stressful situations in an environment where the culture of mask-wearing and maintaining distance was not common. It was during this period that the need to strengthen the capabilities of front line managers became evident. They needed to seamlessly navigate the daily management processes in an unpredictable and changing environment while also prioritizing the mental, physical, and social well-being of the personnel under their supervision.

The task of identifying this need and subsequently developing a project to address it was entrusted to the PSP Academy. The Academy conducted a study on the training needs of managers at the end of 2022. Based on the research findings, priority topics were identified, leading to the development of a 90-hour manager development program. Implementation of the project commenced in 2023, during which 78 new managers underwent training in its initial stage. The company's internal resources, including the director and department heads, along with external trainers and coaches, were engaged in the implementation process.

In an anonymous feedback questionnaire, employees expressed their satisfaction with the project, highlighting its positive impact on communication among team members and the creation of a calm, business-like, and fair environment. Everyone expressed their desire to continue the project and further diversify the program.

PSP consistently maintains its position as the best employer. In addition to 50% co-financing of material component, corporate insurance, various bonuses, travel cards, PSP often organizes outing events, competitions, sports and cognitive activities as part of staff motivation. PSP promotes women's employment, self-realization and development; 98% of the employees on the front line of the pharmacy chain are women.
