Edena

Edena is a social enterprise. Edena’s Elf Kingdom unites 15 women and supports other women and young people in the town of Oni.

Within the framework of the UNDP program, Edena got its own space in 2021, a 100 sq/m workshop and a 40 sq/m shop at the same location. Additional women were employed at the new space. Another ten beneficiaries were trained with practical training on a specific product as a result of a grant received from the Community Grants competition. The women became members of the Edena team after completing their training. They were also included in the state internship program which supported their employment and provided internships for a three-month period. Outside of the educational process, women participating in the project were involved in activities such as:

  • Action in support of Ukraine on March 1 - sale of Racha hats made in the colors of the Ukrainian flag and transfer of money to a family displaced from Ukraine.
  • They learned the basics of sewing through a four-month training course funded by the European Union.
  • USAID Georgia motivational trainings within the framework of the BAZ-Georgia program.
  • Organizing a film screening and discussion on the topic of the war in Ukraine.
  • Participation in the process of the preparation of the first stream of works to be exported to America.
  • Participation in the Rokva and Gemo-fest festivals and the Oneloba festival of traditional crafts, an exhibition of women entrepreneurs and the B2B exhibition of social enterprises.
  • Participation in the ongoing project by the International Art Center, together with the Ukrainian side, which includes the creation and implementation of a tourist office at the workshop which in turn is based on the development/preservation of cultural heritage.
  • Edena's corner is allocated in the ESKI social enterprise store.
  • In 2023, Edena will visit six touristic cities of Georgia with exhibitions as a part of Ethno-tour 2023 as a prize from the TC award.

Other young women were also involved in these activities in addition to the team’s employees.

In total, GEL 5,000 was spent on various activities.
