Liberty Bank

From 2022, Liberty Bank has been actively involved in a three-year project with the Mercy Corps representative office in Georgia with the financing from the Austrian Development Cooperation as well as from the bank itself.

The Rural Development through Youth Entrepreneurship covers more than 1,000 villages in four regions of Georgia and aims to deepen the entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of young people between the ages of 18 and 35 living in these regions who are interested in entrepreneurship. The project then provides financial support to the best business ideas presented by participants which ultimately enable the creation and strengthening of up to 50 agricultural and non-agricultural enterprises.

The Liberty Bank team developed a financial literacy training module especially for the project. With this training, at least 1,500 young entrepreneurs will deepen their basic financial education, learn how to simplify business operations and improve their access to business support structures and key market sectors.

According to Liberty Bank's decision, young entrepreneurs will benefit from preferential banking products and financial consultations after the completion of the project. In addition, they will participate in business forums organized by the bank which will give them the opportunity to find new large business partners.

A total of 1,846 participants were registered in the project (60% of them - women). At this stage, 704 people have already been trained and 369 business projects have been submitted.

The project will be completed in 2024.
