"WIMM-BILL-DANN GEORGIA" OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF "PEPSICO" CORPORATION

The EHS#34 standard denes the minimum requirements for waste management at PepsiCo facilities and provides a systemic approach to the issue. A written waste management plan (WMP) has been elaborated and is being implemented in the company. It details staff roles, responsibilities and accountability, waste sorting, recording and control procedures, etc.

Classication is important for proper waste management; accordingly, the company uses a tool for waste inventory and surveillance. The waste generation process is controlled on a monthly basis and information is gathered and used for periodic reporting. The company is guided by the following hierarchy during waste reduction: reduction (immediate process of production), secondary use (without additional processing), processing (initial or new product), recovery (processing with the purpose of restoring useful properties) and transportation to the landll. The company takes all measures possible to reduce, recycle and restore waste to prevent a harmful impact on the environment caused during transportation.
