FOODMART

The project aims to share Spar's international experience with small holders, assist them in product marketing and thus support their business development. Within the framework of the program, any small holder who produces an interesting product for Spar's format can approach the supermarket. Spar will study the product, brand it and support its sales. Commercial and marketing units are involved in the project. The commercial unit agrees upon the sales conditions and the logistics with the supplier after which the marketing unit studies the product, works on branding, selects and tests the packaging and offers a sales strategy to the supplier.

At the moment there are up to 15 successful products of local small holders sold in the local network under the Spar brand. The portfolio is constantly increasing and encompasses various categories of production; among them, sunower seeds, hot chili paste (adjika), tomato sauce (satsebeli), plum sauce (tkemali), chemical substances for the household and so on.
