Tire Recycling Company – TRC

The company was established in 2017 with the aim to reduce waste and clean the environment from dumped tires. Disorderly dumped scrap tires have a huge negative effect on the ecosystem. As a result of the research conducted by the initiative group of the TRC, it was revealed that 7 million kilograms of tires are dumped annually in Georgia. Of these, 95% are dumped into the environment as discarding them in landfills is prohibited and there are no tire recycling plants in the country.

This was the background behind the idea of creating a tire recycling company that was financed by the Start-up Georgia program. Since then, the company has already recycled 900 tons of scrap tires from which 500 tons of raw rubber granules were made. The company serves large and small organizations, visits them on the site and collects waste tires. From the environmental point of view of the project, the company will be able to collect and recycle 1,000-12,000 tons of waste annually. In terms of the economic benefits, it is possible to produce 600- 800 tons of raw rubber granules from this amount of waste which will replace the imported product. Additionally, through establishing a tire recycling enterprise, many companies have been relieved of their individual waste management problems.
