Frego
Frego, an oil product importer and distributor company in Georgia, has been implementing a pioneering project in the country within the framework of a biodiesel project since July 2018 which is working on the production of fuel based on renewable bio resources - biodiesel. The product, unlike oil diesel, does not pollute the atmosphere and is considered to be the cleanest and most eco-friendly fuel in the world. The biodiesel production technology and its economic model was elaborated by the scientists of the Ilia State University (Iliauni) in 2015 based on the US experience. Having foreseen the ecological and economic benefits of biodiesel production for the country, Frego decided to commercialize the Ilia State University's (Iliauni) pilot project as a part of its activities of corporate social responsibility and made a half-million dollar investment into the construction and equipping of a biodiesel production plant which employees 20 individuals. It should be mentioned that 27-29 tons of carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere is saved on a monthly basis as a result of the work of the production plant. Due to the fact that biodiesel production is based on waste bio resources; specifically, secondary oil processing, the project delivers a twofold ecological impact: on the one hand, it decreases the negative effect caused by the utilization of oil products and, on the second hand, it assists in the rational management and utilization of liquid waste. Through the diversification of energy resources, biodiesel production supports the energy independence of the country.
„Our company, given its corporate social responsibility, views the implementation of a project that will bring multiple benefits to the population as well as to the country's economy and ecology as a top priority“. Irakli Nebulashvili CEO
