Sopio Chachava holds a Doctor of Law (PhD) and serves as a Professor at New Vision University (NVU), as well as an Associate Professor at Tbilisi State University. She chairs the Legal Aid Council and is a member of it, while also serving on the Executive Board of the Association of Mediators of Georgia. Furthermore, she actively practices as a mediator and is a founding partner of Resolve.

Sopio Chachava is a professor of labor law and an expert in the field. She has led a number of trainings for practicing lawyers in this area and is the author of a number of publications and the editor of collections of articles in labor law. Additionally, she co-authored the study for UNDP entitled Management and Efficient Resolution of Service/Labor Disputes in the Civil Service.

Since 2011, Sopio has been a certified mediator at the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution (STCL). She is a practicing mediator accredited by CEDR.

Sopio Chachava is the Council of Europe's international and local expert in mediation. She is a certified trainer (TOT) in negotiation and mediation techniques. Sopio has developed and delivered a variety of training courses/programs in mediation, negotiation, and effective workplace communications in Georgia, as well as in Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, and the Republic of Armenia. Her mediation expertise has been sought by various organizations including UNDP, GIZ, the Council of Europe, and RoLP/USAID

Sopio is a graduate of CELA (Central Eurasian Leadership Alliance), a graduate and a member of the Academy of Leadership. Additionally, she received invitations in 2022–2023 to serve as a Mela facilitator, speaker, and facilitator at the Seala Leadership Academy.

In 2011, Sopio developed courses in mediation and effective communications and has been teaching them since then.
