Giorgi Vekua has been the Director of the Business and Regional Development Department at the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2018. In 2014-2018, he served in the position of the Director of the International Relations and Project Management Department of the Chamber of Commerce.

Giorgi holds a PhD in International Law and Social Sciences. He was awarded a Master’s degree in the field of international investments from the University of Amsterdam in 2014, a Master’s degree in EU business law from the same institution in 2008 and a Master’s degree in law from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2007.

He has held executive positions for more than 15 years during his professional career, having worked with foreign organizations, donors and companies in all regions of Georgia. He has successfully completed numerous projects, including: 

  • “Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia”- project funded by UN Women
  • Women's Economic Empowerment Through E-Commerce - Embassy of the United States of America
  • The project "Chamber of Commerce for the Digitization of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses" funded by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ)
  • DCFTA International Center project financed by the European Union
  • USAID Government Procurement: SME Capacity Development and Training project
  • Joint Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Munich and Upper Bavaria project
  • EAST Invest 2 - EUROCHAMBRES & EU4CC

In the past, Giorgi Vekua has also held the following positions: Advisor to the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Founder and General Director of LLC Horizon Consulting, and Member of the Georgian Bar Association. Since 2020, he has been a member of the Vocational Educational Institutions Authorization Council.

He is the author of 7 scientific papers and digitalization manuals, and he serves as a member of the editorial board of the "Arbitration Dictionary in Georgian."
