Promoting education is one of main directions of the Bank of Georgia’s social responsibility and it includes:  scholarship programs, funding of innovative entrepreneurial projects for youth, the creation of free online distance learning platforms and support in financing the access to the Internet for socially disadvantaged schoolchildren, etc. As a result of the Bank’s educational projects, 100 socially vulnerable school graduates got free tuition to prepare for national examinations to enter universities. Further, as many as 600 students were provided with an opportunity to study in the best universities of Georgia as well as in Europe and America so as to return back and put acquired knowledge into the service of the country’s advancement and development.

In the direction of overcoming poverty, the Bank created an innovative charitable platform, https://donate.ge, enabling anyone willing to help others; in particular, to donate various items or transfer money to various charitable funds as a single donation or a monthly donation without any bank service fee. The Bank assumed the responsibility for all project-related expenses and organizational activity, thereby ensuring un unprecedented increase in beneficiaries as well as items collected. By means of the platform, money is transferred to seven charitable funds as single or monthly donations. As many as 800 donors contacted around 1,900 beneficiaries and more than 70,000 items were collected.

The direction of providing an equally accessible environment for people with disabilities has been financed by the Bank of Georgia since 2014. In 2018 and 2019, the Bank continued its care for the improvement of the quality of living for people with disabilities:  up to 600 individuals were given wheelchairs for independent movement and social integration, 15 social enterprises were created and more than 20 people with disabilities were employed in these enterprises, enabling them to have an independent source of income,  realize their capacities and break the stigma about disabilities in society.
