Skillwill

Skillwill is the first online neo-university in the region, which is completely built on innovative teaching methods. Online education is an additional benefit for those who do not live in the capital, but want to get an education and master the profession of the future.

The goal of the project “Study of modern technological professions for internally displaced youth from Abkhazia” is to promote the employment of the beneficiaries in a competitive and highly paid environment.

As part of the project, Skillvill partner the Office of the Minister of Justice and Civil Integration of Abkhazia launched an open competition. This competition was open to individuals holding the status of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). Selected winners received full funding for their participation. Skillwill provided young people with the chance to acquire skills in future-oriented professions, while simultaneously involving the government of Abkhazia in the project's implementation through partnership and co-financing.

At present, about 40 young people with IDP status receive education with full funding. It is important that young people in Skillwill not only acquire technical knowledge, but also undergo career training, get to know the necessary contacts, which ultimately affects their successful future and perfect integration into society. The significance of this project lies in its provision of various opportunities related to education and the creation of a promising future for youth displaced from Abkhazia.

Some of the students finished their studies at the end of 2023 and among them are already employed. In particular, in the acceleration program of our partner companies, which provides an opportunity for graduates to work on real-time digital projects and get paid for the work done in practice.

It should be noted that Skillwill provides 80% of students with employment in various positions, which is a continuous process.   In March 2024, at the large-scale employment forum planned by Skillwill, students will have the opportunity to discover their desired employment opportunities in successful international and local companies.

"We support the goals of sustainable development and the implementation of the corporate sustainability policy. Skillwill is the first neo-university in Georgia, which is a signatory organization of the UN Women's Empowerment Principle. We, realizing the role of the private sector in creating a responsible business environment, try our best to introduce the principles of sustainability within the organization and raise awareness in this direction among our students and the society. Participation in Meliora is important for us to share the best practices that already exist in Georgian business." - Lana Chkhartishvili - director of Skillwill Georgia.
