Usuli

The fashion industry is one of the world’s largest producers of waste. This waste either takes a very long time to decompose or it does not decompose at all.

The project aims to create beautiful trendy footwear from the waste generated by the fashion industry and show the public that sustainable fashion can also be modern and innovative as well as graceful and glamorous, and suitable for all types of events and celebrations.

To this end, the company collects leftover materials from local designers and old vintage textiles from the public. In addition, Usuli conducts periodic campaigns utilizing social media in order to reach the public at large and collect waste.

After receiving and selling the final product, customers receive a beautifully packaged product (that is presented in a pouch sewn from recycled fabric) that comes with a tag containing information about what they are purchasing, the story being their involvement in purchasing the products and why this is important.

Since 2020, many materials destined for landfills have been given new life. About 1,000 meters of fabric and 300 meters of leather were used by the company which represents about 2,000 pairs of shoes.

In the future, the company wants to produce shoe soles from used tires so that there is no need to buy new soles and use new materials. The company's goal is to show society the possibility of using existing resources effectively.
