Tegeta Holding
In order to warm up on cold winter days, cats often take refuge in car tires and engines, a fact which kills about 100 cats in Georgia every year. The Winter of Caring for Cats joint project of the Animal Project non-governmental organization and Tegeta Holding took place from December 2021 to March 2022 and served to solve this problem.
The project included an awareness-raising campaign that used various communication channels in order to urge the public to take care of street cats and check cars before driving. The project also sterilized homeless cats and arranged housing and care points for them.
Within the project, about 300 cats were sterilized in Tbilisi, Marneuli, Bolnisi, Kutaisi and Gori and about 20 houses were built for homeless cats across Tbilisi in places where cats congregate in large numbers.
As a result of the campaign, the number of Tegeta’s customers because of the company’s social responsibility vis-à-vis street cats. The Animal Project organization was soon followed by other business companies that wanted to get involved in animal protection activities.
Tegeta continued to cooperate with Animal Project within the framework of the dog donation campaign and provided houses for Tbilisi’s four-legged friends on different streets of the city. Additionally, Tegeta befriended the Peteasy animal protection organization which is one of the beneficiaries of Tegeta's charity platform, tegeta.care. With Tegeta's involvement, an image video was created for Peteasy and a cat giveaway event was held.
