Wissol
For the environmentally aware company Wissol, the promotion of eco-friendly electric transport and the development of a network of electric vehicle charging stations in Georgia is of primary importance. In July 2017, Wissol in cooperation with the e-space company opened the first electric vehicle charging station; currently, three chargers are already operating at Wissol's petrol stations.
In the nearest future the company will increase the number of stations and establish a fast charging infrastructure where an electric vehicle will be fully charged in half-an-hour. Additionally, Wissol offers a free charging service for the purpose of encouraging drivers of electric vehicles. To promote eco-friendly transport, the company organized electric car racing for the first time in Georgia with the engagement of volunteers from the Ecovision NGO. The race took place at the Gori section of the highway – the Wissol Rest and Service Center territory where the possibilities of electric vehicles were demonstrated. In addition, on International Environment Day this year, Wissol organized an exhibition of various types of electric vehicles and held a festive procession to increase public awareness on the advantages of eco-transport. Afew years ago, electric vehicles rarely appeared in the streets.
Today, there are about 5,000 electric cars in the country and the number of hybrid cars is growing rapidly. The role of Wissol as a market leader in this process is important.
„With Wissol Group's successful business activities, we want to contribute to Georgia's economic development and the social well-being of the country's population“. Vasil Khorava General Director
