Energo-Pro Georgia

Energo-Pro Georgia is one of the largest energy production and distribution companies which utilizes oil products for its operations. The company is equipped with an appropriate system for environmental protection management and control; however, due to the faulty waste-water cleaning systems in the country in the cases of an abundance of precipitation, a minor leakage of oil products at company sites can be washed into the drainage system and become a source of environmental pollution. To prevent potential problems, the company selected the oil product pollution cleaning method as elaborated by the Scientific Practical Center for Eco Technologies which uses an ecologically safe bio specimen made on the basis of micro-bodies. After the use of the specimen, the micro-bodies remain in the environment for a long period of time and continue the dissolution of oil charcoals until their ultimate disappearance which ensures a sustainable ecological effect. The first phase of the project was implemented in 2017 at the Gumati II dam, aiming at soil cleaning and restoration.

As a result, the pollution on this territory has significantly decreased and the overall environmental conditions have improved. The company's environmental protection unit carries out soil lab research on a regular basis. Activities envisaged by the waste management plan are consistently carried out with the aim of protecting the soil from pollution.
