The action plan for the empowerment of women was developed in cooperation with UN Women with the technical assistance of the Civil Development Agency (CiDA) and the financial assistance of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Not all of the activities under the Action Plan have been accomplished but some results have already been achieved: the company’s leadership has repeatedly declared its position concerning gender issues, mechanisms for combatting anti-discrimination and sexual harassment have been set out in the internal policy of the company, trainings on the topic of gender stereotypes have been conducted for employees and a process for employing women in so-called non-traditional positions has been launched where women employees under equal conditions are being given preference in the appointment to managerial positions. An employee was tasked with the responsibility of monitoring the implementation of the action plan.
According to the data for 2019, the share of women in managerial positions reached 49%. Changes in personnel have led to an increase in sales and boosted the motivation of employees. Women feel better protected in the company while the number of women among the pool of applicants for announced job opening has increased.
