Mikheil Mirziashvili

Mikheil Mirziashvili has been active in the civil society sector for almost three decades.  He works on issues related to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration, civil integration of the ethnic minorities, regional cooperation, conflict prevention and regulation, democracy development and human rights. He took a course of the human rights advocacy program at the International and Public Relations School of Columbia University, USA. He is a co-author of the roadmap and report on Georgia-EU association agreement - Implementation of the EU-Georgia Association Agenda for 2014-2016. Assessment of Civil Society. Civil Society Assessment. He is also a co-author of the roadmap - About European Union.

Mr. Mirziashvili has a five-year experience of working in an active international peacebuilding organization.

He was elected as a member of the Steering Committee (2012–2013) of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF). Under the status of a civil sector expert, he was engaged in working out the Georgian government’s 2017-2020 communication strategy for gaining membership in EU and NATO. He was involved in a Georgian citizen informing campaign on a visa-free regime with the EU initiated by LEPL Information Center on NATO and the EU. During 2005-2009, as a manager of an integration and civil education program of the Fund Open Society – Georgia he led the project initiated by himself – Civil Monitoring of European Neighbourhood Policy in Georgia.

In 1992 together with his friends, Mr. Mirziashvili incorporated Studio Re, a civil society organization that has been supporting construction of a democratic state and development of civil society in Georgia by means of TV-media to date.

Together with other ten civil leaders and activists, in 2019 he founded a non-commercial legal entity “Sector 3 – Hub for Development”  an innovative, creative, dynamic public platform whose mission is to stimulate cooperation among the citizens, organizations, sectors and wider community, as well as to find efficient solutions for sustainable development of the country.
